Forearm to Wrist

Breaking the wrist is the most common broken bone in adults. Most wrist breaks are not too serious and can heal well without surgery, just by wearing a cast to keep the wrist still while it heals. Usually, casts are made from fibreglass. Another option is called Woodcast, which is made from natural materials that break down over time and may be more comfortable for patients and better for the environment.

This study wanted to find out if it would be possible to run a bigger study comparing fibreglass casts with Woodcast casts. The researchers looked at how well each cast worked, how safe they were, and how happy patients were with them.
